Overview

Depending on the regulator, a candidate may be asked to assess a patient, communicate, plan care, administer or explain safe interventions, document findings, and show infection prevention and professional judgment.

UK route

Overseas nurses applying to join the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council register may need the Test of Competence, which includes a computer-based test (CBT) and a practical OSCE, alongside English-language, identity, health, character, and other registration requirements. The NMC determines the individual pathway.
